Julie McPhail, Ed.D. (ABD), M.S.
Julie McPhail is an outstanding instructor and research librarian who provides exemplary assistance to students in technology, research, writing, and art. Her background is diverse and multifaceted, and she is considered by her colleagues to be a “woman of outstanding character and substance.” Due to her educational expertise and engaging teaching style, she has been instrumental to the success of countless students. Her enthusiasm and passion for teaching and learning is inspirational along with her kindhearted friendly ways.
Julie earned her Ed.D. (ABD) in Curriculum and Teaching; her M.S. in Library Science; her B.A. in Art Education, and her AA in Art. In addition, she completed post graduate course work in Technology, Art, Library Science, and Writing Projects. Furthermore, Julie has been a Library Media Specialist, an Elementary School Librarian; a Librarian for two online university programs, and she taught college art courses as well as a variety of elementary grades.
In addition to her vast experience as a teacher and library specialist, Julie loves to sing and participates in a couple of choirs in her community. She volunteers at her local food pantry, “Helping Hands,” and at the National Archies cataloging project. She makes baby blankets for Project Linus (children who are seriously ill, traumatized, and/or taken to foster care). In addition, Julie has crocheted Afghans for soldiers as well as special needs adults residing in homes.

As a librarian with Accelerated Academics, I do the following:
Promote inquiry based learning
Model ethical behavior in information
Promote equitable access for diverse learners
Assist students with technology
Support the writing process over all grade levels
Provide resource support for student research projects
